Katie has been an associate with Pullin, Fowler, Flanagan, Brown & Poe, PLLC, since her admission to the West Virginia State Bar in 2010. She is also admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Southern and Northern Districts of West Virginia and the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals.
Katie possesses substantial experience in all aspects of civil litigation defense in State and federal court. She focuses her practice in defending individuals, State and local governmental entities, and corporations in matters primarily relating to civil rights, contracts, deliberate intent, education, labor and employment, and professional liability.
Katie’s workers’ compensation practice centers on appellate advocacy before the West Virginia Workers Compensation Board of Review and Supreme Court of Appeals of West Virginia. She also counsels self-insured employers and insurance carriers on claimants’ eligibility for workers’ compensation benefits and State benefits that the Consolidated Public Retirement Board administers.
Katie earned a Bachelor of Urban and Environmental Planning from the University of Virginia in 2007, followed by a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the West Virginia University College of Law in 2010.
Katie, born in Daegu, South Korea, was raised in rural, Bath County, Virginia. She currently lives in Charleston, West Virginia. In her spare time, Katie enjoys exploring the Mountain State, taking advantage of its vast outdoor activities, especially hiking and camping.
