Kala Sowers is originally from Crown City, Ohio. In 2001, she graduated with honors from Fairland High School. Thereafter, she attended Marshall University in Huntington, WV, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2005 with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree. After graduation, Kala moved to Morgantown, WV to assist in opening a fitness facility, The HIT Center, where she was employed as an Office Manager for two years. In 2007, Kala made the decision to attend law school, and in 2010, she graduated from West Virginia University College of Law. During law school, Kala was a member of the Law Review serving as an Associate Editor as well as Notes and Articles Selection Editor. In the Spring of 2009 and 2010, Kala worked as a tutor for the Academic Excellence Program at the law school assisting students in learning Property Law. She received the CALI Academic Excellence for the Future Award in both Property I and Trial Advocacy. Upon graduation, Kala was ranked in the top 15% of her class. In August 2010, Kala began working for Pullin, Fowler, Flanagan, Brown & Poe in Morgantown, WV where she currently resides with her husband, Kevin. In her spare time, Kala enjoys working out and attending Mountaineer sporting events.
