Geoffrey grew up in Beckley, West Virginia and graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School. He attended Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia where he studied political science and public speaking. While at Marshall, Geoffrey was a member of the Marshall University Speech and Debate Team. He was the president of the Speech and Debate Team for the 2005-2006 competition year. Geoffrey is a four-time West Virginia State Champion in Collegiate Lincoln-Douglas style debate, winning that title in 2003, 2004, 2005, and 2006. Geoffrey was a National Qualifier in the National Forensics Association as a Lincoln-Douglas Debater in 2005 and 2006. Through competitive speech and debate, Geoffrey gained invaluable practice and experience in issue research, rational analysis, persuasive writing, and public speaking. After graduating from Marshall University, Geoffrey attended West Virginia University College of Law where he excelled at Contracts, Torts, and Civil Procedure. In his third year at the College of Law, Geoffrey became a member of the Marilyn E. Lugar Trial Team and participated on a traveling trial competition team in 2010. Geoffrey worked as a summer clerk for Pullin, Fowler, Flanagan, Brown & Poe in the summers of 2008 and 2009. He continued his work as a law clerk with the firm up until his admission to the practice of law. He then accepted a position with the firm as an associate.
